Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday forecast light to moderate thundershower with lightning and light to moderate rain for some places in 13 districts of Odisha.
This weather condition will prevail in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Ganjam, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Malkangiri and Koraput till 4.30 pm.
The Met officer had earlier predicted thundershower in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack city for seven days from Saturday.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
The IMD also said that heavy rainfall and thunderstorm are likely to occur till June 28 morning as the trough from the cyclonic circulation over Jharkhand & neighbourhood to south Odisha at 0.9 km above mean sea level persists.
