Bhubaneswar: The IMD has forecast that thundershower with lightning is likely in three districts of Odisha in next two and a half hours.
Issuing a yellow message in a nowcast warning at 8 pm, the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar said light rain/thundershower with lightning is likely to affect in some parts of Kraput, Malkangiri and Rayagada districts in next three hours.
The weather office also advised the people to keep a watch on weather condition and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strike.
Earlier in the day, the IMD forecast that the state may experience more rains with the likely formation of a low-pressure area over northwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal around September 23.
The weather agency has warned of heavy rainfall at isolated places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal and Angul districts on September 24.
