Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department on Tuesday issued nowcast warning for nine districts of Odisha till 9 pm.
Light to moderate rain/thundershower with likely is likely in some parts of Koraput, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Balasore, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts in 3 hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move. to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
The weather agency has also issued yellow warning of thunderstorm with lightning for isolated places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Bolangir, Nuapada, Koraput and Rayagada till 8.30 am on Wednesday. Light to moderate rain/thundershower may also occur at a few places in South Odisha and at one or two places in North Odisha.
While there is no further weather warning, light to moderate rain is likely at some places in the state till November 2. Dry weather may prevail thereafter.
