Bhubaneswar: Thundershower with lightning is likely in several parts of Odisha including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack on Tuesday night.
In a nowcast alert, issued at 8 pm, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning is likely to affect some parts of Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Ganjam, Nayagarh, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh, Rayagada, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada and Nabarangpur districts in next three hours.
The Met office has advised the people to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strike.
Earlier in the day, the IMD said heavy rain may lash some parts of the state from Wednesday and issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rain for two districts on June 28.
“Incessant rain will continue in the state for next 5 days under the influence of a cyclonic circulation, which has formed over east-central Bay of Bengal,” said the IMD.
