Bhubaneswar: Thundershower with lightning is likely in some parts of Odisha including Bhubaneswar in next two and a half hours.
Issuing a yellow message in a nowcast warning at 7.30 pm, the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast that light rain/thundershower with lightning is likely to affect some parts of Ganjam, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar) and Deogarh districts in next three hours.
It advised the people to keep a watch on weather condition and accordingly move to safe places to protect themselves from lightning strike.
Earlier, the weather agency had warned of isolated heavy rainfall in Sundargarh, Bargarh and Jharsuguda district on the day. There is thunderstorm with lighting warning for Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Balasore, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar during the subsequent 24 hours.
It had also said the intensity of rain in interior parts of Odisha due to depression in the Bay of Bengal had come down as the system had moved to Chhattisgarh.
