Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued thunderstorm warning for 11 districts of Odisha on Monday.
According to a Met bulletin, the 11 districts likely to be affected are Nuapada, Balangir, Bargarh, Sundargarh, Puri, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur and Keonjhar.
The latest Doppler radar and images indicate that thunderstorm accompanied by hail, gusty surface wind and lightning is likely to occur at these places till 8.30 pm. People in these areas have been advised to stay indoors if such weather conditions prevail.
Meanwhile, the south-west monsoon has covered almost all parts of Odisha.
The IMD has also predicted heavy rainfall in most parts of the state in the next 24 hours.
