Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) here on Sunday issued thunderstorm warning for 19 districts of Odisha.
According to a Met bulletin, the districts likely to be affected are Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Ganjam, Gajapati, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Jajpur, Puri, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Rayagada, Kandhamal and Khurda.
The latest Doppler weather radar and images indicate that thunderstorm accompanied by hail and gusty surface wind and lightning is likely to occur at these places till 5.30 pm.
People in these areas have also been advised to stay indoors, if such weather conditions prevail.
However, the south-west monsoon, which has entered 15 districts of Odisha including five districts on Sunday, is expected to cover the remaining districts in the next 36 hours.
