Bhubaneswar: Light to moderate thunderstorm with hail is likely in some parts of Angul within next 3 hours, the India Meteorological (IMD) department informed on Tuesday.
Light to moderate thunderstorm is also likely in Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh and Keonjhar during this period. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strikes.
Similar warning was issued for Nuapada, Bargarh, Balangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh and Nayagarh earlier in the day.
The MeT office has also forecast light to moderate rain or thundershower at the one to places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Nabarangapur, Kalahandi and Koraput during the next 24 hours, while dry weather may prevail in the remaining parts of the state.
While Odisha is likely to experience rain til March 24, the temperature at many places may witness a gradual rise by 3-4 degree Celsius, the IMD added.
