Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange and yellow warnings for six districts of Odisha till 6 pm.
Moderate thunderstorm with surface wind speed 40-60 kmph, hail and moderate rain may occur at isolated places in Ganjam, Gajapati, Koraput and Rayagada districts during this period.
The weather agency has warned of damage to loose/unsecured structures, banana trees and standing crops in these districts.
Similarly, light to moderate thunderstorm with gusty wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph, lightning and light to moderate rain may affect some parts of Nabarangpur and Malkangiri.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
