Balangir: Today’s thunderstorm here, led to the death of a woman and left four persons with critical injuries. Bamboos got uprooted and fell on the bush where they had taken shelter at Budra village under Loisingha police limits.
The deceased has been identified as Suryakanti Mahakud. The injured have been admitted to the Bhima Bhoi Medical College & Hospital for treatment.
The victims got trapped under the uprooted bamboos and were rescued by Fire Service personnel. They were rushed to Loisingha Hospital, where Suryakanti was declared dead by doctors. Others were later shifted to the Bhima Bhoi Hospital for treatment.
