Bhubaneswar: The regional meteorological centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued thunderstorm and lightning warning for nine districts of Odisha.
The alert has been sounded for Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Nuapada and Bargarh districts.
People in these places have been advised either to stay indoors or shift to safe locations, if such weather conditions prevail.
According to a bulletin issued in this regard, latest Doppler weather radar and imageries indicate that thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and spells of rain are likely to occur over these districts by 12:45 pm today.
