Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) here on Tuesday forecast thunderstorm with lightning in 18 districts between 1.30pm and 5.30pm.
According to an IMD release, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Puri, Khurda, Angul, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Boudh and Jajpur districts are likely to experience thunderstorm accompanied by lightning.
People in these districts have been advised to take shelter in nearby buildings or other safety places.
The state has witnessed 34 lightning deaths in the last couple of days. While 18 persons lost their lives on Monday, the following day saw 16 being killed in lightning strikes across Odisha.
