Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm activity is likely to continue in many parts of Odisha for five more days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Saturday.
No large change is likely to occur in maximum temperature (day temperature) during next three days. Thereafter, the mercury is likely to fall by two to three degree Celsius in the state.
In a midday bulletin, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph may occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, and Jagatsinghpur districts in next 24 hours. A yellow warning was issued for these districts.
Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph may occur in the afternoon/evening at one or two places of Balasore, Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Rayagada, Koraput, Gajapati, Puri, and Khurda during the period.
On April 13-14, a yellow warning was issued for thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph in the afternoon/evening in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar.
On April 14-15, thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph may occur in the afternoon/evening in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Sundargarh. A yellow warning was issued for these districts.
Similarly, heavy rain is likely to occur at one or two places of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.
Likewise, thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur.
On April 15-16, thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.
Heavy rain is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj. A yellow warning was issued for all these districts.
On April 16-17, thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is likely to occur in afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, and Balasore. A yellow warning was issued for these districts.
Similarly, thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph may occur in the afternoon/evening at one or two over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
