Bhubaneswar: The Regional Centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) here on Friday issued thunderstorm warning for 10 districts of Odisha.
The alert has been sounded for Puri, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Kendrapara, Nuapada and Bhadrak districts.
According to the IMD bulletin, thunderstorm accompanied by hail and gusty surface wind speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph is likely to occur in these districts around 12:45 pm.
People in these areas have been advised to stay indoors or take shelter in nearby buildings and other safe locations during this period.
The Met bulletin also forecast a drop in temperature in most parts of Odisha. The mercury is likely to shoot up again from May 18.
