Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm with lightning and rain likely to occur in the blocks of Jatni-Khurda-Bhubaneswar-Balianta of Odisha’s Khurda district till 3 pm on Thursday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlie
r warned of one or two intense spells of rain is likely in some parts of Dhenkanal, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Malkangiri, and Koraput districts in Odisha till 5 pm. Minor damage to loose/unsecured structures and standing crops is likely in these areas.
Yellow warning of light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning has also been issued for 11 districts, including twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, during the next 3 hours. The districts, which are likely to be affected, are Nayagarh, Sundargarh, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Boudh, Nabarangpur, and Deogarh. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
