Bhubaneswar: Moderate thunderstorm accompanied with squall and wind speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph is likely to hit some parts of Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Balasore and Mayurbhanj in the next three hours.
The India Meteorological Department warned of minor damage to loose/unsecured structures and small trees that under the impact of the thunderstorm. Some damage to standing crops may occur, it added.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
As per the updated Yellow warning, light to moderate thunderstorm with gusty wind speed reaching 30 to 40 kmph is likely at Malkangiri, Rayagada, Nayagarh, Boudh, Dhenkanal, Nuapada, Keonjhar, Angul, Deogarh, Balangir, Bargarh, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar) and and Cuttack districts in the next three hours.
