Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued thunderstorm warning for 15 coastal districts including the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
The Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar said there will be light to
moderate thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph with light to moderate rain in some parts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Bhadrak, Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Kalahandi, and Puri districts between 11.15 am and 2.15 pm.
People are advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strikes.
