Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) here on Sunday issued thunderstorm and lightning warning for five districts of Odisha.
The districts likely to be affected are Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Kendrapara and Dhenkanal.
According to the IMD bulletin, the latest Doppler weather radar and images indicate that thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and wind speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph is likely to occur at these places by 6:30 pm.
The bulletin has advised the people at these places to stay indoors, if such weather conditions occur.
The weatherman also predicted that similar weather conditions are most likely to prevail in the state till May 24 and south-west monsoon is expected to hit Odisha coast by June 6.
