Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm accompanied by gusty wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph and rainfall is likely in Odisha’s twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack in next one and half hours.
The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar in Nowcast Warning has issued a yellow message at 6.10 pm on Friday.
“Moderate thunderstorm accompanied with gusty wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph, lightning and light to moderate rain is likely to affect some parts of the districts of Cuttack (including Cuttack city) and Khurda (including Bhubaneswar city) within next three hours,” the message read.
Under its impact minor damage to loose/unsecured structures, minor damage to banana trees and standing crops may occur.
The IMD has advised the people to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions and be ready to move to safer places accordingly.
