Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain/thunderstorm with lightning in several places of Odisha including twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack on Thursday night.
The IMD in its nowcast warning stated that gusty surface wind with speed reaching 30-40 kmph is likely to affect some parts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada and Cuttack districts (including Cuttack city) during next two hours.
Light to moderate rain/thunderstorm with lightning is also likely to affect some parts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar city), Jagatsingpur and Nayagarh district during the period.
The Met office has advised people to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strike.
