In a nowcast warning, issued at 7 pm, Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar forecast that moderate thunderstorm accompanied with wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph, lightning and light to moderate rain is likely in some parts of Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nuapada, Khurda, Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh districts in next three hours.
Under its impact, minor damage to loose/unsecured structures, banana trees and standing crops is likely.
The Met centre advised the people to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions and be ready to move to safer places accordingly.
