Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorm in several places of Odisha including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack in next 3 hours.
In a nowcast warning issued at 5.30 pm, the regional centre of IMD here said light to moderate thunderstorm with lightning and light to moderate rain is likely to affect some parts of Bargarh, Sonepur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Sundargarh, Khurda and Cuttack districts (including cities of Bhubaneswar & Cuttack) within next three hours.
The Met office has issued a yellow warning and advised the people to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strike.
Earlier in the day, the IMD forecast thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph in several districts for at least 2 days.
