Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is likely in Jajpur and Bhadrak districts in next 2 hour.
In a nowcast warning, the regional centre of India Meterorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for the two districts.
The weather office has forecast that thunderstorm with gusty surface wind, lLightning and light to moderate rain are likely to affect the two districts. Under its impact, minor damage to loose/unsecured structures and damage to standing crops may occur.
It has advised the people to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions and be ready to move to safer places accordingly.
In its midday bulletin, the IMD forecast that thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is very likely at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sonepur, Balangir, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal in nect 24 hours.
Similarly, thunderstorm with lightening is very likely to occur at one or two places in Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh,
Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Jharsuguda and Nuapada during the period.
