Malkangiri: A tiger cub died after coming under the wheels of a goods train near Rajnandgaon district, along the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border, on Tuesday.
According to sources, the one-year-old cub was hit by the train after its feet got stuck in the railway tracks passing through Gandia Reserve Forest.
The incident took place while a tigress was crossing the tracks with its three cubs.
On being informed, Forest department officials reached the spot and sent the carcass for postmortem.
