Phulbani: Odisha Police have made elaborate security arrangements to ensure peaceful celebration of Christmas in Kandhamal district.
Kandhamal SP Prateek Singh on Wednesday said that the district and local police along with 21 platoons of paramilitary forces and CRPF personnel have been deployed at all sensitive and Maoist-prone areas. Besides, security personnel have been frisking vehicles at the six entry and exit points in the district.
The SP also said that special security arrangements have been made in Barakhama area where the Kui Samanwaya Samiti is observing Saheed Divas (Martyrs Day). “We have deployed three platoons of police and a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to keep a close watch on the law and order situation,” he added.
