Tight Security In Kandhamal For VHP Seer’s Death Anniversary

Phulbani: Elaborate security arrangements were put in place in Kandhamal district on the occasion of the 11th death anniversary of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati and celebration of Janmastami on Friday.

Kandhamal Superintendent of Police Prateek Singh said special arrangements were made at Chakapada Gurukul Sanskrit school and Kanyashram at Jaleshpeta in memory of Saraswati who was brutally murdered inside his room at Jaleshpeta on the evening of August 23, 2008.

He said the additional SP, two officers of DSP rank and two platoons of police were deployed at Chakapada and Jaleshpeta to avert any untoward incident during the observation of the death anniversary.

Singh also said police have intensified patrolling in all sensitive areas of the district while combing operations and frisking of vehicles have been intensified against suspicious and subversive activities.
