Bhubaneswar: With the FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup Bhubaneswar 2021 set to kick off from November 24, tight security arrangements have been made by the Commissionerate Police in Bhubaneswar at Kalinga Stadium.
Addressing media persons Police Commissioner Soumendra Priyadarshi said as players from across the world are participating in the event, their security is a major responsibility of police.
To ensure the safety of players, Priyadarshi said 5 ASPs, 8 DSPs, 26 Inspectors, 72 Officers, 30 Havildars and 20 platoons of force will be on guard for the event. The cops will be present at the gate and internal periphery of the stadium as well as on the ground and they have been briefed about the players security, he added.
A total of 16 teams will compete for the U21 World Cup title, that will be held till December 5 in the city.
As no spectators are allowed in the stadium and there will no traffic arrangements, the entire security can concentrate on the safety of players.
The Police Commissioner said in view of COVID-19, RTPCR test is mandatory for all persons on duty and mediapersons.
It may be mentioned that Bhubaneswar Police made water-tight security during the World Cup, Champions Trophy and FIH Hockey Pro League.
