Basing on specific information, the forest personnel intercepted a truck carrying timber of Khaira tress which were cut down and were being smuggled by the trio from Balangir to Chhattisgarh.
In a separate incident, a most wanted criminal identified as Tapan Ray was arrested by Pipili police.
A sword and money were seized from Tapan’s possession.
A total of 12 criminal cases are pending against Tapan at different police stations of the state, police sources said.
