Bhubaneswar: Four departments of the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital along with the Institute of Dental Sciences (IDS), run by SOA (deemed to be university), have been adjudged number one in facilities available in the city.
According to Times Health Survey findings published on Wednesday, the departments of Diabetology, Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery, Trichology and Dermatology of SUM Hospital occupied the number one position in the city rankings while the departments of Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology and Bariatrics were placed third.
The IDS, known for its state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities for imparting education and advanced dental treatment, was adjudged number one in the eastern region, thereby maintaining its top rank in the city. It was ranked number 13 in the country as a dental care destination.
SUM Hospital’s department of Trichology was placed fourth in the eastern region and fourteenth in the country while the department of Bariatrics was positioned sixth in the east. The departments of Diabetology, Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery and Orthopaedics were ranked seventh in the east while the departments of Ophthalmology and Dermatology were placed eighth and tenth respectively in the region.
The annual survey was conducted for ranking the eight departments at
the national, regional and local levels.
