Bhubaneswar: Until now, WhatsApp had let users mute groups or personal chats upto a year. A new update finally lets users mute the chats forever.
The feature is currently available on WhatsApp beta version on Android. By muting a group or personal chat, users will not get notifications from the chat.
The process is same to enable it. Head over to the group or chat you want to mute. Click on the three dots at the top right and open ‘Mute Notifications’ option. Then select 8 hours, 1 day or always.
In other news, WhatsApp recently issued statements regarding privacy after accusations of leaked chats followed from actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s case. “WhatsApp protects your messages with end-to-end encryption so that only you and the person you’re communicating with can read what is sent, and nobody in between can access it, not even WhatsApp,” said the app.
