Bhubaneswar: Titlagarh was the hottest place in the state on Saturday recording 45.5 degree Celsius, which is the highest temperature of the season.
According to evening bulletin of regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD), as many as 3 places in the state recorded maximum temperature of 45 degree Celsius or more on the day. Besides Titlagarh, the are other centres are Boudh (45), which had topped the table for the last two days and Balangir (45).
The IMD recorded maximum temperature of 40 degree or more at 21 places and 44 degree or more in 9 places. Jharsuguda recorded 44.9 degree Celsius, followed by Sonepur with 44.7, Angul 44.5, Bargarh 44.4, Sambalpur 44.3 and Sundargarh 44 degree.
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded maximum temperature of 37.8 and 36.8 degree Celsius respectively. Gopalpur in Ganjam district recorded the lowest temperature at 30.8 degree Celsius.
