Kendrapara: Intensifying its ongoing probe into the alleged nexus between some government officials and arrested gangster Tito, the vigilance sleuths on Tuesday raided three more government offices in Kendrapara district.
A six-member team of the anti-corruption department carried out simultaneous raids at Kendrapara tehsil, municipality and Derabis tehsil offices following which several documents were verified and seized.
The vigilance officials had on July 27 raided Kendrapara Municipality, Sub-Registrar, Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWSS) and Roads & Building offices and a branch of IDBI Bank in connection with the gangster’s alleged link with some officials.
Earlier, simultaneous raids were also carried out on RTO offices in Cuttack, Chandikhol and Kendrapara, Derabish and Garadpur tehsil offices, Supply office and the Kendrapara Municipal office, where several documents were seized.
The move came after the vigilance department came to know about some officials extending undue favours to the gangster.
The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch on Monday arrested two more associates of gangster Syed Usman Ali alias Tito. The duo was identified as Alok Mallick and Deepak Swain. Both were picked up by a team of the STF from Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district.
According to sources, the two had attended a meeting with the gangster at Goa to plot some criminal activities.
