Tokyo: Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat on Thursday defeated reigning Olympic Bronze medalist from Sweden Sofia Mattsson in the women’s freestyle 53kg round-of-16 to reach the quarters at the Tokyo Olympics. And Vinesh did it in style by winning 7-1.
She will face Vanesa Kaladzinskaya of Belarus next.
Vinesh is the first woman wrestler to win gold medals in the 2018 Commonwealth and Asian Games.
She had to drop out of the 2016 Rio Olympics after she twisted her knee during a fight.
