Kolkata: The tug of war between Trinamool Congress and BJP over film artistes in poll-bound West Bengal continues.
The latest Tollywood star to join the bandwagon was pretty actress Payel Sarkar, who joined the BJP on Thursday in the presence of the party’s state president Dilip Ghosh and other senior leaders.
The development comes a day after a clutch of celebrities including June Maliah, Sayoni Ghosh, Kanchan Mallick and cricketer Manoj Tiwari joined the Trinamool.
Earlier this month, one of Tollywood’s leading men Yash Dasgupta had been roped in by the saffron party.
