New Delhi: The skyrocketing prices of tomatoes is burning a hole in family budgets. In Madhya Pradesh, two tomatoes became the reason for a marital discord.
Sanjeev Burman, who runs a tiffin service in MP’s Shahdol district, said that recently after he used two tomatoes while cooking a meal without asking his wife, a huge fight broke out between them. According to Burman, his wife got upset that he had used the tomatoes without her consent.
After an argument, she decided to leave their house with their daughter, according to Burman’s statement. He tried to find them but couldn’t. Later, he went to the local police station for help.
A senior police officer confirmed that Sanjeev had filed a complaint. Sanjeev said that the argument started because he put two tomatoes in the vegetable dish he was cooking. He said that he had not spoken to his wife in three days and didn’t know where she was, India Today reported
The police officials had assured Sanjeev that they would contact his wife and she would come back soon.
