Torrential Rain Inundates Odisha’s Malkangiri Town, Snaps Road Communication

Malkangiri: The entire Malkangiri town was inundated and several areas of the district were flooded due to heavy rain on Friday.

According to official sources, the torrential rain that started from midnight led to rise in water level of river Tamasha. As a result, several bridges submerged under the flood water, snapping road connection to many areas.

The rainwater was flowing at 2-3 feet over bridges in MV 2, MV 3, MV 7 and Pradhaniguda areas. Tekaguda Sahi and Srilanka Sahi of Malkangiri town areas was inundated by knee-deep water.

The sources said Malkangiri block had received 138 mm rainfall and Korkanda block 132 mm since last night.
