Balasore: Locals rescued an eight-year-old boy, who had escaped from a childcare home, in Balasore district on Sunday.
According to available information, a Class I student was rescued from a bus stand by locals who later handed him over to Sahadevkhunta police here.
The child told the cops that he was being tortured and beaten up by the authorities of the residential school on several occasions.
Based on his statement, a police team swung into action and went to the childcare home for inquiry. But, the authorities concerned refuted the allegations brought against them.
Efforts are on to establish contact with the parents of the victim.
