Bhubaneswar: The BJP on Thursday announced the tour details of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his one-day visit to Odisha on December 24.
Briefing mediapersons here in the afternoon, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Union Tourism and Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma said the Prime Minister during his visit will dedicate and lay the foundation stone of several projects to the tune of Rs 14,523 crore.
“The Prime Minister will dedicate a postage stamp and a commemorative coin of Rs 200 featuring the historic Paika Rebellion (1817) against the British rule on the occasion of its bicentenary celebration. He will inaugurate the Chair at Utkal University in memory of the rebellion. The Tourism and Culture Ministry will provide a corpus fund of Rs 5 crore for the Chair,” Sharma said.
Apart from this, the Prime Minister will dedicate the new campus of the IIT-Bhubaneswar at Aragul built at a cost of Rs 1660 crore and lay the foundation stone of a permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Science and Education Research (IISER) in Berhampur.
The Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister said the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of laying a gas pipeline from Paradip to Hyderabad at a projected cost of Rs 3800 crore and another pipeline from Angul to Bokaro in Jharkhand at a projected cost of Rs 3437 crore under the Urja Ganja Yojana.
The other programmes of the Prime Minister include:
–Inauguration of new 50-bedded ward of the ESI Hospital in Bhubaneswar and laying the foundation stone for the upgradation of the old 50-bedded ward of the hospital.
— Laying the foundation stone of the construction of six lanes of the National Highway-16 at a cost of Rs 2200 crore and four lanes of the National Highway-4 between Cuttack and Angul.
Apart from this, he will dedicate a Buddhist museum at Lalitgiri.
The Prime Minister will dedicate and lay the foundation stones of these projects from the IIT-Bhubaneswar campus after which he will address a public meeting near the Barunei Hill in Khurda.
