Mumbai: India’s opening Test match in Australia will be a day-night affair, to be played under lights at Adelaide Oval, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has confirmed.
India will tour Australia post the IPL, starting end of November, and will play three T20 Internationals, three ODIs and four Tests.
“Cricket Australia has sent us an itinerary. We will play three T20Is, three ODIs and four Tests there. The first Test will be a day-night game in Adelaide. The dates haven’t been finalised yet,” Ganguly said.
Though the IPL had to be moved out of India due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ganguly is hopeful that they can host England for the scheduled Test series in early 2021. “It’s still four months away. We will take a call in due course,” he said, adding that no back-up venue has been talked about.
