Bhubaneswar: The tour details of Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu’s Bhubaneswar visit have been finalized. He will arrive here on Saturday.
According to the schedule, the Vice-President will arrive at the Biju Patnaik International Airport at 8.20 am from New Delhi. He will then proceed to Raj Bhawan where he will have a breakfast with the Governor, Ganeshi Lal. From Raj Bhawan, he will leave for the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Sijua at 9.35 am to attend its first convocation. After delivering the keynote address, he will leave for Delhi at 11.30 am.
Fifty MBBS and 56 nursing students will be conferred degrees, while 24 students will be given the gold medal at the convocation. Apart from the Vice-President, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, JP Nadda, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and the Governor will also attend the convocation.
Meanwhile, ahead of the Vice-President’s visit, the Commissionerate Police held a carcade rehearsal on Friday afternoon.
Talking to mediapersons here, Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Sahu said elaborate security arrangements have been made at the airport, Raj Bhawan, AIIMS and the route through which the Vice President will move. “Thirty platoons of the armed police force will be deployed in all these places during the brief visit,” he added.
