Bhubaneswar: In a bid to avoid fatal accidents at Dhauli hill top, the state tourism department on Saturday announced introduction of a new shuttle service.
Addressing media persons at a press conference here, tourism director Nitin B Jawale said, “The service will be inaugurated by tourism minister Ashok Chandra Panda in presence of other dignitaries on April 1 at 9 am. The aim is to prevent accidents by restricting movement of heavy vehicles and at the same time boost tourism.”
Under the service, initially, six AC buses (26-seater) will be launched for operation from the foothill to hilltop in a regular interval. These buses will be parked down the hilltop to provide hassle-free commute for tourists to visit the Buddhist monastery. The move will also minimize pollution to a large extent, Jawale added.
