Puri: In a late night development, a tourist couple from West Bengal has alleged harassment by staff of a private bus service today.
The couple alleged that they were beaten by a bus driver for demanding to be dropped near Harihar Square.
The tourists, in a video released by a local media house, stated that they had travelled up to Chilika in a bus. Though they boarded the bus at Harihar Square during the beginning of the journey, they were asked to deboard near Urban Haat (not their destination).
“As we sought an explanation about this drop at Urban Haat, he started beating and abusing us,” said the visibly scared woman.
The tourist-couple, Manisha Munshi and Rakchani Munshi have filed a complaint with Sea Beach police. The couple also produced a receipt issued by the bus.
