Tourist From West Bengal Found Dead In Hotel In Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: A tourist from West Bengal was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a hotel in Odisha’s Balasore district on Friday.

As per reports, the tourist, identified as Vivek Nag from Baxibazar un west Midnapire district of West Bengal had checked into the hotel at Chandaneswar under Bhogarai block in Balasore district on Wednesday.

On Friday morning, when the hotel staff knocked on the door of his room for cleaning, Nag did not open it. As they did not get any response from inside the room after repeated knocks and calls, the staff informed the hotel owner.

Suspecting something foul, the hotel informed the police. A team from Talaseri Marine police station along with additional tehsildar of Bhogarai came to the hotel and the door of Nag’s room was forcibly opened.

They found Nag hanging from the ceiling fan of his room. The police sent the body for post-mortem and informed Nag’s family. They have registered a case of unnatural death and started investigation to ascertain the cause of suicide.
