Bhubaneswar: Koi Bhai Nahin (KBN) was not the only gang which spread fear in the city with its viral videos.
Another gang has now come to light which employed the same tactics as KBN to terrorise people. Known as Town Tigers, this group was created by some members of KBN gang, police said.
Details about the new group emerged from the police interrogation of five members of KBN gang. Their custody ended on Sunday.
These five members are Cheng alias Rajesh Behera, Suman Kumar Parida, Sania alias Sanatan Behera, Rahul Jena and Narendra Kumar Sahu.
Along with KBN, police have now expanded their probe to Town Tigers also.
Police said members of Town Tigers had a WhatsApp group by the same name. Many members have left the group, whose admin was Sania, after the police crackdown. Police are probing who all were its members and those who have left.
The mastermind of KBN gang, Bubu alias Debi Prasad Jena, remains on the run. The gang had 29 members. Nine are in police net. While seven were arrested, two more surrendered.
KBN gang’s notoriety spread mainly through videos on social media — videos of members waving swords and dancing raucously at prominent ‘chhaks’.
