Toyota on Thursday launched the Glanza hatchback, a rebadged version of Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
The Glanza is available in only 2 trims – G and V, and two petrol engine options – 83hp 1.2-litre K12B and 90hp 1.2-litre K12C DualJet mild-hybrid engine. Here are the prices:
Glanza G MT Rs 7.22 lakh
Glanza G CVT Rs 8.30 lakh
Glanza V MT Rs 7.58 lakh
Glanza V CVT Rs 8.90 lakh
In comparison, the Maruti Baleno Zeta manual is priced at Rs. 6.97 lakh, making the Glanza around Rs 30k pricier.
There is a CVT automatic available only with K12B engine.
The K12B petrol-manual has a fuel efficiency of 21.01kmpl, the K12C Smart Hybrid is rated at 23.87kmpl and that of the CVT is 19.56kmpl.
Feature-wise, the Toyota Glanza gets similar equipment as the Maruti Baleno. Automatic climate control, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, navigation and voice command, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, steering-mounted audio controls and push-button start-stop system.
The V variant like the Alpha gets additional UV-cut glass, LED DRLs, leather-wrapped steering wheel, auto headlights with follow-me functionality and a reverse camera.
The Glanza is the 1st baby of the Toyota-Suzuki cross badging venture. The Vitara Brezza, Ciaz and Ertiga will be the next Toyota badged products.
The main difference between the Glanza and Baleno is a three-year/1 lakh km standard warranty.
