Toyota’s new hatchback is a rebadged version of Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Spied photographs reveal that the name of the new hatchback is Glanza.
This is the first car to come out of the Toyota-Maruti alliance announced in 2017. It will be interesting to see how many Toyota manages to sell as Maruti averages 18,000 units of Baleno a month.
The car, as expected, resembles the Baleno, and has a few changes such as a new grill and slightly tweaked face. The rest of the car remains similar to the Maruti counterpart, expect the Toyota badge. The interior of the car hasn’t been revealed. It is expected to remain almost the same with a few marginal tweaks. It will have two engine options. One will be the same as Suzuki’s 1.2-litre KB12 petrol motor in the Baleno and the other is expected to be Toyota’s 1.2-litre petrol engine used in the Etios Liva.
