After discontinuing the Etios, Toyota is planning a lower-spec Yaris for fleet operators.
Currently, the Yaris comes in 4 variants. The base J Optional model has projector headlamps, power windows, height adjustable driver’s seat, cooled glovebox , power adjustable ORVMs, rear seat armrest, and 3 airbags. The new variant, however, will have not have some of these features.
Powering the Yaris is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 106 BHP. It comes with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed CVT with paddle shift.
Toyota is also expected to add a CNG option to the new lower-spec variant.
