Bhubaneswar: Tata Power Central Odisha Distribution Ltd (TPCODL) has geared up to deal with possible disruption in power supply due to cyclone ‘Asani’ in the region under its jurisdiction.
The DISCOM has delivered necessary materials at likely affected locations so that immediate restoration work can be taken up post cyclone and kept adequate stock of essential spare parts, tools and equipment including transformers, switchgears, etc.
The company has a detailed Business Continuity and Disaster Management Plan (BCDMP) in place for dealing with the situation. It includes categories of disasters based on the severity along with a corresponding action plan.
It has set up a disaster management structure to receive alerts, examine those, send pre-disaster alerts and devise mechanism for invoking and revoking BCDMP.
