Bhubaneswar: TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), a joint venture between Tata Power and Odisha government, has appealed to consumers to follow essential electrical safety measures to ensure a safe and bright Diwali.
As homes, shops and public spaces sparkle with Diwali lights and decorations, TPCODL has reminded everyone to be cautious while using electrical equipment and decorative lighting to avoid potential hazards and prevent accidents.
TPCODL urged consumers to promptly report electrical issues like sparking wires, loose connections or snapped lines through its 24×7 Call Centre (1912 / 1800-345-7122) for immediate assistance.
Following are key safety precautions for a safe festive season:
* Inspect all electrical decorations thoroughly before use.
* Avoid using cracked or broken sockets and plugs.
* Use only double-insulated wires and cables for lighting setups.
* Do not use damaged wires as they may cause electric shocks or fire hazards.
* Refrain from overloading sockets with too many lights or appliances.
* Ensure proper earthing for all lighting and decorative installations.
* Always unplug decorative lights before leaving home or going to bed.
“As we celebrate the festival of lights, let us also prioritise safety to make this Diwali truly joyous and secure for everyone. We request all our consumers to observe basic electrical safety practices to prevent mishaps, said TPCODL’s CEO Arvind Singh, wishing everyone a “safe, bright and happy Diwali.”
