Bhubaneswar: The Tata Power Central Odisha Distribution Ltd (TPCODL) has suspended its employee a day after he was arrested by Vigilance on bribe charge in Bhubaneswar.
The power distribution company said the officer was suspended immediately after his arrest and an investigation started into the charges.
“We have taken immediate action by suspending the officer in question and initiating an internal inquiry into the matter. Once the investigation report is available, the strictest measures will be taken against the individual found guilty. We will also provide full cooperation to all the agencies investigating the case,” said a spokesperson of the TPCODL on Tuesday.
It may be noted that the Vigilance had arrested Tarun Ranjan Nayak, OAG-III in the office of GRF, TPCODL, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar for accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a complainant to process a grievance application for new electricity connection. The complainant had paid the demanded bribe in the PhonePe number of Nayak’s associate Sailaja Muduli.
